Configuration
Configure the Picture Optimizer plugin with your API key and settings.
API Key Setup
The plugin requires an API key to communicate with the Picture Optimizer cloud service.
Generate an API Key
- Log in to your SerpTransformer dashboard
- Navigate to Settings → API Keys
- Click Generate New Key
- Copy the key — it will only be shown once
Store your API key securely. It cannot be retrieved after generation — only regenerated.
Enter the Key in WordPress
- Go to Settings → Picture Optimizer in your WordPress admin
- Paste your API key into the API Key field
- Enter the API URL provided in your dashboard (e.g.,
https://your-domain.com/image-forge-api/v1) - Click Save Changes
The plugin will validate the connection and display a success or error message.

Connection Test
After saving your settings, the plugin automatically verifies the connection by fetching your credit balance. If successful, you'll see your current balance and plan name in the plugin's processing modal.
If the connection fails, check:
- The API key is correct and active
- The API URL is correct (include the full path with
/v1) - Your server can make outbound HTTPS requests
- There are no firewall rules blocking the connection
